| Ark Research Project Newsletter - February 2000
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ INTRODUCTION
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It has been a while since the last Ark Research Project newsletter. It has
not been for the lack of news. Just like you, everyday life consumes the
days, and the Director requested that we inform you as to what has been
happening lately. So here we go. You can review the Director's letter to
benefactors in the From the Director section below.
Here is a thumbnail sketch of the past year for ARP:
01/1999 - Proposal for Aug 1999 expedition developed
02/1999 - Proposal on CD developed
03/1999 - Research investigation with eyewitness, Vince Will
04/1999 - Planning stages and ground worked laid for Aug 1999
05/1999 - Logistics developed for Aug 1999
06/1999 - More planning for Aug 1999
07/1999 - Training on Palisades Glacier in California
08/1999 - Awaiting clearance on permits
09/1999 - Permits arrive, awaiting clearance of funds.
10/1999 - No funds available, trip for 1999 canceled.
11/1999 - Jim Hall makes trip to Turkey
12/1999 - Quiet
01/2000 - Ark effort for Aug 2000 begins
02/2000 - New members added to ARP team
Through the year, the ARP personnel list has changed, there are now a
couple of new faces on the team and some of our past teammates have started
a Remote Sensing group called ArcImaging
(http://www.noahsarksearch.com/arcimaging).
At
this point in time, Mount Ararat appears to be open to climbers in August
2000. Therefore, if this sentiment continues, we should be able to get
permits. However, as illustrated in the year's summary, if we are not
properly funded, we will not go.
If you know of anyone who could help us in this effort, please contact our
Director, Jim Hall (profhall@prodigy.net) and he
can send them a copy of
the proposal for 2000.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ YOUR THOUGHTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words of encouragement, shared interest and enthusiasm are great ways to
share your thoughts with us. However, due to the volume of email, it is
nearly impossible to "personally" respond to all letters. If you would
like
a response from your email, please let us know and we will try our best to
do so accordingly. Here are a few letters straight and mostly unedited from
you:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just to let you know that I really enjoyed reading about Noah's Ark. You
have made a GREAT page and I wanted to thank you for all of the interesting
articles I read. Wishing you a wonderful 2000.
God Bless you and yours. J
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me commend the outstanding research and work contained within your web
pages. The information was found to be highly accurate and detailed. The
"legend" of "Noah's Ark" may be the one of the most
"fantastic" in recorded
human history. Rivaled only by the "Ark of the Covenant" in importance. And
I would dare to say equally as dangerous.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I enjoy your world-class site very much, and check in now and then to see
how the work on the Ark is going! I look forward to reading more as the
search progresses.
I felt I should point something out to you that I found a little 'odd'. I
ran a search on the web (through 'Yahoo') on 'noah AND ark', and found many
listings (of course). One of them was:
http://home.clara.net/noahsark/
This site is run by an OCCULT group started in 1990, that calls itself
"Noah's Ark", which encourages "physical mediumship", in accordance
with
alleged messages from some departed spiritualist named Noah-somebody from
England back in the 30's. It is clearly dedicated to occultic seances and
related phenomena, and thus manifests not information about the Biblical
Noah, but rather about those practices in the world which led to Noah and
family having to take refuge in the ark in the first place.
Seeing the excitement about the search for the Biblical Ark, and considering
how close may be the actual discovery of it, I could not help but think it
very clever of the enemy to situate a group of occultic servants with the
name of 'Noah's Ark' on the internet. Anyone who is simply curious and
impressionable, who searches the web for information on the Ark can get
roped into this site instead. With dozens or hundreds of sites listed,
depending on how one defines the search, it is sheer chance as to which of
the sites a merely curious but uninformed 'surfer' would click on first.
Again, it seems a very clever device. Perhaps you should be flattered! It
seems our invisible foe has taken sufficient note of your work, and that of
others, regarding the real Ark, that he felt the need to have his people put
up false detours with similar names! BC
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am very interested in your research and will be sending all your
information to my sons class at the Seven Day Adventist School in Roanoke
Va, the class will be praying for you. Please add us to your mailing list,
this
is soooo.... exciting. >>>J
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had been following your progress and your newsletters for some time.
Recently I noticed that I had stopped receiving them. Would you please start
sending me the newsletter again.
I have used your information to share in our ministry in the Juvenile
Deliquent Center for several years. The Children are facinated by the fact
that the Ark is
real. And it strongly impresses them that the Lord is REAL! HE is using
your ministry even now in more ways than you know!
Our prayers are with you in your endeavor, and that you receive "Divine
Direction" every step of the way! DW

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FROM THE DIRECTOR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to take this opportunity to once again thank you for your support of
our effort to locate Noahs Ark in Turkey. The effort has turned into quite
a project. We had plans to do the project in August- September of 99 but
the funding did not come through in time.
Even though we were unable to initiate our expedition, we were able to make
valuable contacts with the Turkish authorities and secure the necessary
permits. These were the first official permits granted to explore the
entire mountain in the last 20 years. Those permits were granted solely to
our team.
I made another trip to Turkey in Oct. of 99 to meet with our Turkish
contacts and make plans for this coming August-September expedition. I
would appreciate your prayers as we raise our budget.
It was in May of 1991, when the Lord called me to this project. As I look
back and see where we have come and what we have able to accomplish, I see
the Lords hand in our effort. It has not been without its challenges and
problems.
We have accomplished much. A dedicated team of scientists and technicians,
much research as to where the Ark is located, needed Turkish contacts, and a
32 page printed proposal.
Remember, our purpose is to document the Ark both scientifically and
professionally for the purpose of using the video documentary to warn the
world of the soon return of our Lord. This is the exciting part of the
entire mission. To accomplish this, will entail sophisticated technology
and equipment.
Funds were used to secure a lawyer for legal counsel in conducting a 501-3c
tax exempt organization and setting up a team agreement, travel throughout
the US and Turkey for interviews and meetings, and equipment and supplies.
All of this could not have occurred without your support for which I thank
you. Feel free to e-mail me for updates and information and check out our
web site at: http://www.arksearch.com/arp
This then is our report of this past year and we are looking to this summer
as the possible time for our effort. It ultimately is in the hands of the
Lord. It is His timetable. I leave with you with the following scriptures
which I am claiming for the project.
Is. 45:2-3
I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will
break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of
secret
places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy
name, am the God of Israel.
Respectfully,
Prof. James Hall, Director
Ark Research Project
