Ark Research Project Newsletter - November 2000

INTRODUCTION

The last Ark Research Project newsletter was published on February 2000.  Many have asked when is the next newsletter coming out?  We will publish the newsletters as new or important issues become available.  A few such significant issues are now presented:

In July, ARP team members: Tim Mills, Zach Smith, Glenn Pinson, Edith Pinson, Tom Englman, Matthew Kneisler and team Director, Jim Hall trekked through the fabulous mountains of the Sierra-Nevada.  The goal was to hone skills in mountaineering and learn new techniques under the superb direction of Glenn Pinson. The training exercise was capped with a ten-pitch summit climb of
Mount Sill, 14,135 feet. If you want a real taste for this adventure then click here.

This training climb was a direct result of the many contributions from so many kind people and the generous from several mountaineering companies such as: Mountain Hardwear (climbing gear), Camel Back
(hydration systems), Suunto (wrist computers), and Lowa (boots).  Many thanks to all who helped.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Words of encouragement, shared interest and enthusiasm are great ways to share your thoughts with us.  However, due to the volume of email, it is nearly impossible to "personally" respond to all letters.  If you would like a response from your email, please let us know and we will try our best to do so accordingly.  Here are a few letters straight and mostly unedited from you:

I do hope you all find the ark as this would give many millions of Christians another viable physical proof of just how real the Bible is!! It all must be in our Lord's hands if it is his will just now at this time however,......I believe that an eye opening Biblical artifact like this will be another strong witness for our Soon Coming Saviour. I will pray that God may guide  your path as you all make this journey. In Jesus' name I pray that you may find the Ark for His Glory. Amen.  A.W.

hi this is one of the most interesting sights i've found. i would like to get your newsletter or updates on noah's ark. thank you  G.H. south dakota

I would like to follow the development of the research and would appreciate very much if you could send me the latest newsletter until with Allah's grace the ark is found as stated in the Final Scripture ( the Holy Quran) A.

I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO RECEIVE YOUR NEWS LETTER.I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN THE ARK. I PRAY THAT YOU WILL FIND IT IN MY LIFETIME. R.H.

I would really be interested in receiving your newsletter. Your research has astounded me! R.K.

I had been following your progress and your newsletters for some time. Recently I noticed that I had stopped receiving them. Would you please start sending me the newsletter again. I have used your information to share in our ministry in the Juvenile   Deliquent Center for several years. The Children are facinated by the fact that the Ark is real. And it strongly impresses them that the Lord is REAL! HE is using  your ministry even now in more ways than you know! Our prayers are with you in your endeavor, and that you receive "Divine Direction" every step of the way! D.W.

I am very interested in your research and will be sending all your information to my sons class at the Seven Day Adventist School in Roanoke Va, the class will be praying for you. Please add us to your mailing list, this is soooo.... exciting. >>>J.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

I just returned from a 10 day trip to Turkey that was filled with blessings beyond description. As you know, our two main obstacles were permits and finances. I signed a tentative agreement with Ataturk University in Erzurum, Turkey to work with the Archaeology Department on a cooperative expedition to explore for Noah's Ark.

This was a historic agreement because it will be a model for all future Ark research in that all groups applying for an expedition will have to agree to the terms of the contract. If my work ended here, I felt like this was a tremendous step forward. Nothing like this was ever done before in the history of Ark research.

There was another group also present and aiding in compiling this agreement which took over 7 hours to develop and notarize. The university has been given the authority by the Turkish government to handle all permit applications. All groups wishing to do research are then asked to present their proposals for selection. Your prayers were definitely evident for the Lord gave our group extreme favor with the University administration. It looks as if we have the inside track because of the way they treated us over the others. ( based on previous experiences, I remain cautiously optimistic).

We have also identified a sponsor for our financial support and possibly another group also. The sponsoring foundation was the sponsor of my trip to Turkey and I will give them a report in the early part of December. I believe when they see the agreement plus other information they will be come the sponsor of the expedition which is slated for next August-September.

While there, I visited the mountain, possible target sites for the Ark on the mountain, and ancient areas where we think are the first habitations of Noah and his family. The Lord gave us also wonderful contacts with the military as I had lunch with a General and his staff. The military will also need to grant permits into the area..

I cannot tell you everything that happened on this trip but it was beyond all description and I want to thank each of you for your support and prayer. Continue to pray as I prepare the proposal for the university's consideration.

Remember, what the Lord laid on my heart. We wish to use the Ark discovery and documentation for a witness of the soon return of the Lord. I feel the excitement over the possibility of bringing this project to a successful conclusion as it has been a 9 year long journey filled with trials and tribulations.

Those of you in the Lynchburg area, I will be bringing a slide program and report on the Search for the Ark with all of the latest information and pictures at Forest Alliance Church, December 3, Sunday evening with the time to be announced. There will be an ad in the paper

Again, I wish to thank each of you and especially the Pastors of the churches who so graciously supported my effort by having me in their church and taking an offering for the project. Those of you who prayed so diligently, I thank each of you. We still need your prayers as Satan will continue to thwart our efforts but we are the victors.

In Christ,

Jim Hall, Director
Ark Research Project
